The Making of an Audio Book

Join audio book producer Robert Kessler with Dan Bittner for a discussion on the making of audio books during the Westchester Book Festival on November 8th at 1pm at Chroma Fine Art Gallery. Tickets at www.westchesterbookfest.org

Have you ever wondered how that audiobook you’re listening to actually gets made? Or perhaps you are wondering how to get into the business? Bringing together a veteran audiobook producer/director and veteran audiobook narrator will explain the many ins and outs involved.

Topics of discussion will include: casting, director and talent preparation, the studio recording process, and how the final product is post produced.

Producer/Director Robert Kessler has been involved with audiobooks for 40 years and has won numerous awards including a Grammy for Still Me written and read by Christopher Reeve. He has been fortunate to have worked with many of the great authors, actors, business leaders and politicians of our time.

Dan Bittner is an Audie award-winning narrator of multiple genres from Non-Fiction to Sci-Fi. He has received numerous AudioFile Earphones awards and an Odyssey award in 2019 and 2021. Dan can also be seen in films such as The Wolf of Wall Street, The Post and Brittany Runs a Marathon. He has recurring roles on HBO's The Leftovers and Evil.
