Community Art Coming!
Two weeks until the official unveiling, but we have been working with Artists for Humanity (AFH) on an outside piece of art for the Katonah Reading Room that you are just absolutely going to LOVE. AFH provides studio space for teen artists, teaches them skills, and employs them in making community art and selling their work. We are so thrilled to announce that a kind benefactor wants to bring this art to our town of Katonah! It’s bright and cheerful and happy and so beautiful. I can’t wait to show you. Save the date: April 18th from 3-7pm during the first Katonah Art Walk of the spring. All ages welcome (and will love the art)!

Favorite new picture book
LOVE both the illustrations and the story of “A Chest Full of Words”. The story introduces the reader to exciting and visually pleasing words in such a clever way. If you have a kiddo who loves reading and is the host if a wonderful imagination, this one’s for you.

Seating?
People have been asking about our upstairs seating lately…here’s a primer….
Seating is open EVERY day during our regular business hours. That’s seven days a week.
All events occur in our EVENT space so regular seating is not impacted.
Yes, you can work here.
No, outside food is not welcome. We sell food and drinks, so using the space and not buying what we offer is just sort of, not cool.
That’s all. Just a cafe trying to offer everything we can. Enjoy the cool space. Work on what you need to, visit with a friend, read a book, use it however it feels good. Enjoy!!!!
How To Be Ok
Jenny Lawson, author of one of my favorite books “Furiously Happy” is back with “How to be Okay When Nothing is Ok” - basically a guide to surviving yourself in a world that is not always kind or helpful to people with depression, anxiety and other mental health issues, Jenny treats her struggles with a sense of humor and wit that just tickles the right spot for me, and maybe makes us all feel a little less alone. The book releases Tuesday, text us to grab yourself a copy, 914.334.8019.
