Mah Jongg April Beginner Class
Mah Jongg: Beginner’s Classes
Tuesdays 10:30-12:30
In Person upstairs at the Katonah Reading Room in our special event space.
Bam! Crack! Dot! Learn the American version of this fascinating ancient game of skill and chance. Mah Jongg is typically played with four people. * We must get four people to sign up to teach so payment will not be requested until the class is full.
The game is social, competitive, exciting and addictive. The instructor breaks down the layers of the game into an easy and fun challenge. Loved for generations by all ages, Mah Jongg is a great way to get together with friends, keep your mind stimulated, improve your memory, and it is lots of fun. The current National Mah Jongg League card will be provided at the first class.
Instructor: Pamela Suett - I have over 35+ years of experience playing Mah Jongg and a love of the game passed down from my mother. I would fall asleep at night growing up to the sound of the tiles clicking and the ladies laughing. My extensive business career was spent primarily in non-profit education. My last full-time position was at a Westchester graduate school where I was the main liaison/support for prospective and new students (information sessions, campus tours, new student orientations, etc.). I now spread the joy of playing Mah Jongg and continue doing what I love - helping others to learn.
Please sign up below to join the class. April 7, 14, 21, and 28 and May 5, from 10:30-12:30. $200 per person for five sessions. You must commit to the full five sessions. No refunds or credit for missed classes.
