Author Visit: Deborah Levison & Meredith Schorr

Join us for the release of “A Novel Crime” and a book chat with authors Deborah Levison and Meredith Schorr in conversation, Sunday April 26th at 2pm.

“A Novel Crime”: “She wanted to write the perfect novel. Instead, she became the perfect villain.
Struggling romance writer and recent divorcée Marcy Jo Codburn feels like a failure. She’s green with author envy and longing for a book deal, a launch party with cupcakes, and the admiration of her daughter. But her dream of literary success is fading faster than her beige hair dye.
When she witnesses celebrated author Francesca Barber in a compromising position, Marcy sees her chance. Transforming into her bolder, blonder alter ego, she leverages Francesca’s secret to secure the ultimate coauthor. As their collaboration spirals from Marcy’s modest Connecticut home to Francesca’s lavish Hamptons estate, both women discover that in the cutthroat world of publishing, every story has its price.
With looming deadlines and more than one fraud to hide, their twisted partnership careens toward a surprise ending neither could have written.”

Deborah Levison: Debbie's life has two parts: the first in Canada, where she attended the Royal Conservatory of Music and the University of Toronto, and the second in Connecticut, with three children, two doodles, and one husband.
She's an award-winning writer, published in national and international media, and is the recipient of the State of Connecticut Martin Luther King 2024 “Courage Like Coretta Award” for raising awareness of world atrocities and the Holocaust through literary work and education.
Her first book, a nonfiction, true crime about a murder that involved her family, is THE CRATE. It won seven literary awards. Reviewers commented on the "gorgeous and poetic writing” and New York Journal of Books said it was "a brilliant story." Her first novel, A NEST OF SNAKES, about abuses in elite New England private schools, has been described as "unforgettable," "powerful and raw," and “a roller coaster ride of emotions leading to a staggering climax and absolutely perfect ending.”
A NOVEL CRIME, Debbie’s third book, is about a romance writer desperate for a bestseller. Readers say it is “wickedly hilarious and utterly unputdownable” and “a crime caper full of twisty, razor-sharp wit, with a deliciously dark turn that will leave you breathless.” It has “an ending you’ll be texting your friends about.”
Her dream of storytelling began one summer night by a camp bonfire as she listened to a ghost story: The Monkey's Paw. The memory still makes her shiver.

“Room Mating”: “A cozy rom-com about a grad student forced to live with the exasperating (and detestably handsome) grandson of her elderly roommate—“the perfect romance to curl up with and fall head-over-heels into” (Clare Gilmore, USA Today bestselling author).
Sabrina is too busy with grad school and her job as a library page to think about dating. Until her elderly roommate Marcia invites her grandson Adam to move into their two-bedroom apartment in Manhattan temporarily to “find himself.” Sabrina doesn’t mind sharing the small space with Adam, but she’s not expecting to fall for him herself.
Adam is not only gorgeous—he’s kind, funny, and shares her love of reading. After one too many accidental midnight rendezvous in the bathroom (him shirtless), the tension between them is hotter than ever.
But they’re not the only ones feeling the heat. After Marcia has a health scare, her doctors advise that one of her younger roommates must go.
In a comical and sexy battle to prove who deserves to stay, the two pull out all the stops. All's fair in love and real estate, but victory is not so sweet when winning the apartment could mean losing each other.

Meredith Schorr: A born and bred New Yorker and lifelong daydreamer, USA Today bestselling author Meredith Schorr fueled her passion for writing everything from restaurant reviews, original birthday cards, and even work-related emails into a career penning romantic comedies. When she’s not writing books filled with grand gestures and hard-earned happily-ever-afters or working as a trademark paralegal, she’s most often reading, running, or watching TV…for research, of course.
